Synopsis:
The year is 2009. Nineteen-year-old Jackson Meyer is a normal guy… he’s in college, has a girlfriend… and he can travel back through time. But it’s not like the movies – nothing changes in the present after his jumps, there’s no space-time continuum issues or broken flux capacitors – it’s just harmless fun.
That is… until the day strangers burst in on Jackson and his girlfriend, Holly, and during a struggle with Jackson, Holly is fatally shot. In his panic, Jackson jumps back two years to 2007, but this is not like his previous time jumps. Now he’s stuck in 2007 and can’t get back to the future.
Desperate to somehow return to 2009 to save Holly but unable to return to his rightful year, Jackson settles into 2007 and learns what he can about his abilities.
But it’s not long before the people who shot Holly in 2009 come looking for Jackson in the past, and these “Enemies of Time” will stop at nothing to recruit this powerful young time-traveler. Recruit… or kill him.
Piecing together the clues about his father, the Enemies of Time, and himself, Jackson must decide how far he’s willing to go to save Holly… and possibly the entire world.
Rating: 4/5
I have started this book for some time and I was really exccited about it when I did. I was not really sure what it is about but I knew it envolved time travel.
The main character of the book is Jackson Meyer, a college student who discovered for some time his ability to travel in time. He can jump in time but he can not change things that have or will happen. Thanks to his friend Adam, he can understand more about his jumps and gradually he jumps in back days, months, years.
Jackson has a really nice girlfriend named Holly, who he loves really much.
One day, a strange incident occurs making Jackson jump back in time and get stuck there. Althou he tries to get back to the main base he always ends up in a different place.
His regret for jumping back in time is leaving Holly behind in danger. But he is also grateful for having the possibility to see his dead sister again.
I enjoyed reading this book but as I gradually flipped the pages something didn't catch me anymore. I don't know if it was the many jumps that Jackson made (which started to confuse me at some point, always having to look at the previous chapters to check the date where J. is) or the plot itself but something was a little off. When I saw this book and the synopsis I felt like there was something more to it. Its not a bad book but it could have been more.
I liked the relationship that Jackson and Holly have. They are so cute together and I really admired J for caring so much about H.
It is a good read for a summer day or any other days you fell like travveling in time.
